Mutations in this gene lead to autosomal recessive congenital blindness. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2008] PHENOTYPE: Homozygous mutation of this gene results in photoreceptor cell dysmorphology. By 3 months of age mutant animals show near complete loss of photoreceptor cells. [provided by MGI curators]
