However, it does this not by direct interaction with the receptor, but by direct interaction with the nuclear hormone receptor transcriptional coactivator NRC. PHENOTYPE: Mice homozygous for a transgenic gene disruption exhibit embryonic lethality before implantation. Mice homozygous for a conditional allele activated in the brain exhibit loss of cortical neurons and decreased brain size. [provided by MGI curators]
