PHENOTYPE: Homozygotes for ENU-induced mutations of this gene have altered serum and urine phenylalanine levels and may display reduced body size, microcephaly, microphthalmia, decreased litter size, hypopigmentation, impaired balance/swimming, cognitive deficits, and environmentally-induced seizures.
