PHENOTYPE: Mice homozygous for a knock-out allele exhibit resistance to neuropathic pain and myelin sheath alterations. Mice homozygous for a different targeted allele exhibit decreased nociception sensitivity, decreased anxiety-related response and enhanced coordination and spatial learning.
