Mutations in this gene are associated with Kufor-Rakeb syndrome (KRS), also referred to as Parkinson disease 9. PHENOTYPE: Mice homozygous for a knock-out allele exhibit neuronal ceroid lipofuscinosis, synuclein accumulation and age-dependent sensorimotor deficits. [provided by MGI curators]
