This protein has been found to be specifically involved in transcription initiation and elongation. Homozygous knockout mice exhibit impaired motor coordination. A pseudogene has been identified on chromosome 8. Alternative splicing of this gene results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2014]
