Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2011] PHENOTYPE: Homozygous null mice display perinatal lethality, hydrocephalus, agenesis of the corpus callosum and hippocampal commissure. Fertility is surviving homozygotes is compromised. A decrease in the number of heterozygous animals is associated with a maternal effect. [provided by MGI curators]
