MGI Phenotype FUNCTION: This gene encodes a protein localized to the tight junctions and adherens junctions in vertebrate epithelial cells. The encoded protein regulates the activity of Rho family GTPases during junction assembly and at confluence. At the adherens junctions, the encoded protein is part of a protein complex that links E-cadherin to the microtubule cytoskeleton.
